A full day of DIY music somewhere between screamo, emo, post-hardcore and everything in between. Loud, quiet, chaotic, fragile. Sometimes angry, sometimes beautiful, occasionally both at the same time.

Kid, Feral (Skövde, SE)
Kid, Feral kommen aus Skövde in Schweden und bewegen sich irgendwo zwischen Screamo, Hardcore und völliger Eskalation. Seit 2016 veröffentlicht die Band in mäßiger und erstaunlich inkonsistenter Frequenz neue Musik und verbindet rasende Drums, unberechenbare Bassläufe und verzweifelte Vocals zu einem Sound, der gleichzeitig chaotisch und wahnsinnig eingängig ist. Laut, emotional und jetzt in Kiel. Say what?!

Kid, Feral are from Skövde, Sweden, and operate somewhere between screamo, hardcore and complete chaos. Since 2016, the band has been releasing new music at a moderate and surprisingly inconsistent pace, combining frantic drums, unpredictable bass lines and utterly desperate vocals into a sound that is both wildly chaotic and ridiculously catchy. Loud, emotional and now somehow playing in Kiel. OMG!!

Barabbas, du förtappade (Stockholm, SE)
Barabbas, du förtappade aus Stockholm spielen wütendsten Screamo mit politischer Schärfe. Sagen sie. Wenn man genau hinhört, versteht man das auch. Ihre Songs handeln von Entfremdung, Gleichgültigkeit und dem Wunsch, die Verhältnisse™ nicht einfach hinzunehmen. Ballerige Beats treffen auf nervöse Melodien und kurze Songs, die oft schneller vorbei sind, als man sie verarbeiten kann. In den letzten Jahren teilte die Band Bühnen mit Acts wie Nuvolascura, Loma Prieta oder Ostraca und spielte zahlreiche Touren durch Europa.
Kiel-Connection: Sie hatten eine Split mit Кальк (Kalk). Niiice.

Barabbas, du förtappade from Stockholm play the angriest screamo imaginable. Or so they claim. If you listen closely, you’ll understand. Their songs deal with alienation, apathy and the refusal to simply accept the prevailing circumstances™. Blasting beats collide with nervous melodies and songs that are often over before you’ve fully processed what just happened. Over the last years, the band has shared stages with acts like Nuvolascura, Loma Prieta and Ostraca while touring extensively across Europe. Kiel connection: they released a split with Кальк (Kalk). Niiice.

Grim Silence (Düsseldorf)
Grim Silence aus NRW spielen Hardcore, der laut, direkt und kompromisslos ist. Die Band beschäftigt sich mit den Auswirkungen von Patriarchat und Kapitalismus auf das persönliche Leben ebenso wie mit größeren gesellschaftlichen Zusammenhängen. Wut, Verletzlichkeit und Solidarität stehen dabei nicht im Widerspruch zueinander. Hardcore verstehen Grim Silence als einen Raum, der für alle offen sein sollte.

Grim Silence from North Rhine-Westphalia play hardcore that is loud, direct and uncompromising. Their songs explore the impact of patriarchy and capitalism on everyday life as well as broader social structures. Anger, vulnerability and solidarity are not contradictions here. For Grim Silence, hardcore is a space that should be open to everyone.

Choir Boys (Berlin/Leipzig/Bremen/Dresden)
Die Choir Boys verweigern sich seit Jahren erfolgreich jeder klaren Genrezuordnung. Irgendwo zwischen Hardcore, Grind, Noise und Punk entstehen kurze, hektische Songs, die sich mit den Widersprüchen einer jungen Generation beschäftigen. Vom digitalen Alltag über linke Szenekultur bis hin zu Selbstfindung und Selbstzerstörung wird hier alles zerlegt, durch den Fleischwolf gedreht und mit voller Wucht wieder ausgespuckt. Außerdem kommen sie gefühlt nie im selben Line-up. Mit welcher Formation werden sie in Kiel auflaufen? Come and find out!

For years, Choir Boys have successfully resisted any attempt at being pinned down to a single genre. Ihre Songs handeln von Verletzlichkeit, Solidarität und dem Wunsch, Isolation zu überwinden. Zwischen völliger Katharsis und vorsichtiger Hoffnung entstehen Momente, die einen im einen Augenblick niederdrücken und im nächsten wieder auffangen können. Im Kern sind riot but cute. eine Band über Verbundenheit. Darüber, einander in einer Welt zu finden, die Menschen immer weiter voneinander entfernt. Irgendwo zwischen Verzweiflung und Hoffnung erinnern sie daran, dass niemand mit allem allein sein muss.

Saltfalls (UA/Berlin)
Saltfalls sind eine ukrainische Band mit aktuellem Lebensmittelpunkt in Berlin. Ihr Sound verbindet Shoegaze, Dreampop und Post-Punk mit ausschließlich ukrainischen Texten. Viele ihrer Songs sind eng mit ihrer Heimatstadt Kalush verbunden und erzählen von Erinnerung, Herkunft und dem Versuch, Verbindungen über Entfernungen hinweg aufrechtzuerhalten. Melancholisch, atmosphärisch und gleichzeitig erstaunlich kraftvoll.

Saltfalls are a Ukrainian band currently based in Berlin. Their sound blends shoegaze, dreampop and post-punk with lyrics written exclusively in Ukrainian. Many of their songs are closely connected to their hometown of Kalush, reflecting on memory, belonging and the challenge of maintaining connections across distance. Melancholic, atmospheric and surprisingly powerful.
